On the 5th of May 1962, the “All India Heart Foundation” was
established, mainly due to the efforts of the first woman
cardiologist
of India, Padma Vibhushan Awardee, Dr. S. Padmavati.

And that
step was taken in 1981 when National Heart Institute (NHI)
opened its
portals as the Nation’s First Dedicated Cardiac Care Institute
and the
First Private Sector Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory outside
the
‘Developed World’ at that time.

From August 2016 to Nov 2019, AIHF/NHI provided cardiac care
services to
the entire population of Kumaon Himalayas through its Cardiac
Centre
based at Base Hospital, Almora.

At NHI, we have been bestowed with the trust and faith of our national and international patients, hence our sincere endeavor to give back to the community. CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility is more like our duty, an act of kindness, an effort to save lives, and reignite hope - not just for the ailing but their despondent families.
OUR SUPPORTING HANDS
Hans Foundation, a registered public charitable trust, focussing on issues concerning education, women empowerment, and healthcare, collaborated with NHI for major heart surgeries of children, and signed an MoU in October 2016. Since than 110 children have undergone open-heart surgeries.
